Welcome to Presbytery Central
Presbytery Central is the regional body for the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand in the lower North Island. There are Presbyterian and Union Churches, Church schools, Presbyterian Support (a social agency) and various chaplaincies in the regions of Taranaki, Whanganui, Manawatu, Wellington, Gisborne and the Hawkes Bay.
Our primary purpose is to encourage, equip and resource these local churches and their leaders in continuing the mission of Jesus Christ within their communities. We are about networking and resourcing churches.This website will provide news, resources and offer help to locate key people and local churches.

Building Trust, Prayer and Participation
We want to see members of our presbytery able to trust us, to be a people of prayer and to join together with their presbytery at gatherings, ceremonies and celebrations.
Sharpening our Mission Focus
We want to see our congregations led missionally, planning with an understanding that mission underpins all we do, and supported by their presbytery in following God's call to reach the world.
Greening the church
We want to see our church abounding with new life, young people being welcomed, discipled and grown and new and vibrant ways of being church encouraged.
